AS A 3 YEAR OLD

Bred by Mary Clarke, Highland Thoroughbred Farm, Inglewood, Ontario and purchased in 2006 by Walter Stewart from Coleraine, Northern Ireland as a yearling at the Forest City Sales, Ontario this son the Panderosa has since set the Harness Racing Calendar alight in the UK & Ireland.

Amongst his most memorable achievements during 2008 was winning a Heat & Final of the York Harness Raceway ThreeYear Old Championship, run on separate days on the 28th & 29th of June. What was extraordinary surrounding this feat is that Forafewdollarsmore completed the mile circuit, on both occasions, on consecutive days, in a watchbursting time of under 2 minutes. It was a breathtaking time of 1min59.4secs. in the Final after an even faster heartstopping time of 1min58.4secs. in the Heat.

He returned to York a month later on the 29th of July to compete in the British Harness Racing Club Derby, run over a distance of a mile and a half.  In the career of all three year olds this is a partcular race in the BHRC Calendar that everyone has ambitions of winning. Forafewdollarsmore did not disappoint his connections. Piloted by John Richardson, trainer William Flanagan was delighted with his showing on the day. Not only did he win but he established a new record time for the Derby of 3 : 03.6 – that record still remains intact.

As a conclusive flourish to his season he overwhelmed the opposition in the Scottish Grass Championship for 3 Year olds at Musselburgh Racecourse on the 6th of August. At this track, this race is run over 11 furlongs, in a clockwise direction, as opposed to the customary left handed courses. Dollar as he is affectionately known, proved his deftness and ability  by demonstrating the manner in which he could handle all types of surfaces and distances and it was abundantly clear that he had already made a marked impression on the harness racing scene.

In all Forafewdollarsmore recorded a total of 7 wins in his inaugural season of racing.
