AS A 7 YEAR OLD

Another fantastic season in the career of this phenomenal horse. Out of 10 appearances he broke the two minute barrier on no less than 8 separate occasions – not many horses can lay claim to such consistency.

After his first successful outing on home soil, during May, at Annaghmore Raceway, he went ahead in the subsequent month to pace the mile in winning a Handicap Race at Portmarnock Raceway on the 17th June, 2012 in a dazzling time of 1:59.5 & that off a trail of no less than 35 yards – an incredible feat.

DOLLAR contested an overhauled Crock of Gold Championship at Tir Prince Raceway on the 21st July 2012. After an “altercation” with the Gate he went on to win his heat comfortably in a clock of 1:59.7 which proved to be the joint best time of the evening.

In his next race after returning home DOLLAR, although handicapped to race off a daunting trail of 35 yards at Portmarnock Raceway on the 12th of August 2012 came through to win in an excellent time of 1:58.3 .

If that wasn’t enough, he was again faced with a trail of 30 yards at the same track on September 23rd 2012. DOLLAR in that particular race, which was timed in 1:57.7, recorded the quickest ‘post to post’ time of the season at Portmarnock Raceway. It is abundantly clear, that had a greater number of Preferred Free For All Races been framed, his statistics would have made completely different reading.

DOLLAR has been nominated, as one of two horses from Ireland, for the prestigious British Harness Racing Club Overses Horse of the Year Award which he captured for his 2008 triumphs.

Finally, it is fitting to mention that the illustrious & dedicated input from Owner/Trainer/Driver Walter has forged yet another memorable season for Carmel, his Family & himself…….may we all have another repeat next year !
