FORAFEWDOLLARSMORE IN TRAINING

Dollar is already undergoing training  which commenced at the beginning of the month – here he is during the second week in February, undertaking that schedule,  at his home in Coleraine – with Walter his owner braving the cold snap and the Arctic conditions….

February 20th 2012 : “GO AWAY… I’M NOT GOING OUT IN THAT WEATHER …”

 SUNDAY 24th MARCH : Preparation is well underway for the forthcoming Season – and DOLLAR is relishing it all at the Downhill today…..

 

  MONDAY morning – 26th March 2012 – This is one of the reasons for DOLLAR’S remarkable career success story – a dedicated training schedule coupled with the sea air, tide water and a 11Km stretch of sandy beach…. yes in more ways than one this is the  Real  DOLLAR and note that reflection in the picture…!

 

 

  SATURDAY 28th April – ANNAGHMORE RACEWAY – DOLLAR’S first taster of the season on a track & he went good in his initial workout…. (all photos courtesy of Carmel)

 

       

                 

 ANNAGHMORE RACEWAY – WEDNESDAY 16th MAY

DOLLAR excelled once again – in a two horse tactical race he completed the mile in an astonishing time of 1 :57.7 – allowing for the trail the calculated mile converted into an incredible 1 :55.7 – all Walter had to do was sit behind him – DOLLAR showed his strength as he sped into and around the final paddock turn to accelarate away  – all the indications look extremely good for his next trips …

 PORTMARNOCK RACEWAY – SUNDAY 17th JUNE 

DOLLAR had his first outing at Portmarnock with trainer Walter – off a trail of 35 yards he completed the race in a clock of 1 : 59.5 – it was an astounding performance and everyone present was astounded with such a performance….

         ….here he is in the stretch coming home for another resounding win….  

….and Owner/Trainer/Driver Walter was well pleased with a good day’s work and a fantastic run from DOLLAR….

 

 

DOLLAR CONTINUES TO CLOCK

SUB TWO MINUTE MILES…. 

PORTMARNOCK RACEWAY – SUNDAY 8th JULY : Second in a Handicap Race – DOLLAR was trailing 35 yards but from the Starting Post to the Wire still came home in under 2 Minutes….all in all it made for a creditable and pleasing performance…

TIR PRINCE RACEWAY – SATURDAY 21st JULY : An absolutely incredible run by DOLLAR in a Crock of Gold Heat….

…even after being hampered and knocked by the Gate at the Start, DOLLAR recovered to triumph against a strong field, in a remarkable time of 1:59.7….it was all the more remarkable, as he showed his strength and courage, not only to come back into the race but to win convincingly for Owner/Trainer/Driver Walter…

…numerous ardent and knowledgable racegoers present considered it the performance of the evening and DOLLAR was a worthy recipient of such acclamation and opinion….

PORTMARNOCK RACEWAY – SUNDAY 12th AUGUST : Everyone attending witnessed another spectacular run from DOLLAR – he was again relentless in pursuit of the others – at the end he was a comfortable 6 lengths winner – it was amazing for all to watch – quite an amazing time of 1:58.3 as well, considering a trail of 35 yards – but then DOLLAR never ceases to amaze – Walter, Carmel and Family were extremely well pleased on the day…. 

 

PORTMARNOCK RACEWAY – SUNDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER : This was DOLLAR’S final outing in his 2012 campaign. He again didn’t disappoint. The race pulled up in a clock of 1:57.7 – although placed 2nd he once more had to contend with a trail of 30 yards. Taking that into consideration he signed off with another noteworthy perfomance to complete the fastest post to post time of the season at Portmarnock Raceway.
