   He opened his account with a flourish in the 2011 season. Travelling across the water from Ireland to the Appleby Spring Meeting held on the 29th/30th May he competed in the top race for Grade10-12 horses on the second day of the fixture. He went on to paralyse a star studded field and was a comfortable winner at the wire. 

 

 Good fortune was not bestowed on Dollar during the year wherein he derived numerous unfavourable draws for Gate position, ran on handicap marks which were extremely difficult to make up and was dogged with persistent wellbeing problems. 

 In Free For All’s on the 19th of June and 18th Of September respectively he recorded a couple of fine successes at the newly refurbished and reopened Portmarnock Raceway. It was also the case in point that he continued to race within the two minute timescale in all mile races on a hard surface and breaking that threshold was a natural phenomenen in his racing capability.

  Dollar has now returned to his abode and stable at Coleraine but within a few months initial preparation for next year’s campaign will be underway. He will soon be yet again breathing the sea air daily, undertaking a training schedule in the capable hands of his owner Walter Stewart, on a six mile stretch of beach known a the Downhill near Portrush, Northern Ireland and watched over by the famous Mussenden Temple.

 

             

 

 

 

 

 

When next season gets underway there is a ring of confidence that Forafewdollarsmore will ‘once more’ find a chink in the armour of his rivals for Walter, Carmel & Family….
